Richard Gere Playfully Flips Savannah Guthrie the Bird During Live *Today* Interview: 'I'm Bleeping You!'"

In an unexpected twist during a live segment of *Today*, legendary actor Richard Gere provided audiences with a moment they won’t soon forget. During an interview with co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, the actor jokingly flipped her the bird, sparking laughter on set and a wave of reactions across social media.

The moment unfolded as Guthrie and Gere were discussing his latest project, a lighthearted romantic comedy slated for release this holiday season. The interview was full of banter, with Gere exhibiting his trademark charm and wit. However, things took an amusing turn when Guthrie teasingly interrupted Gere mid-sentence to deliver a playful jab about his character’s quirks in the film.

Feigning mock irritation, Gere raised his hand and gave Guthrie the middle finger, instantly lightening the mood. Guthrie, quick to respond, burst into laughter and quipped, “I’m bleeping you!” as the production team blurred the gesture for viewers at home.

The candid interaction was clearly all in good fun, with both Guthrie and Gere leaning into the humor of the situation. Fans on social media were quick to share clips of the moment, dubbing it "hilariously unexpected" and praising both stars for their authenticity.

One Twitter user wrote, “Richard Gere flipping Savannah Guthrie the bird on *Today* is the energy we all need to get through this week.” Another added, “Iconic behavior. Richard Gere is officially my spirit animal.”

The exchange marks yet another memorable live TV moment for Guthrie, who is known for her ability to keep things light and spontaneous on the show. As for Gere, the veteran actor proved once again why he remains a beloved figure in Hollywood, seamlessly blending humor with his down-to-earth demeanor.

Neither Gere nor Guthrie has commented further on the moment, but given the positive reception, it’s clear audiences are embracing this unfiltered and playful side of the star.

As one fan succinctly put it: “Richard Gere flipping the bird on *Today*? This is why we love live television!”
